Sycamore Gap itself has been featured in countless photographs, perhaps most famously being filmed in the 1991 film “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves”, starring Kevin Costner, Alan Rickman and Morgan Freeman. It also featured heavily in the music video for Bryan Adams’ worldwide hit “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You, a song from the film’s soundtrack.
This incredible location has since drawn many thousands of visitors, seeking to feel some of the area’s ancient history and mystique. Only a 2omin drive away, Brampton makes the perfect base for exploring this magnificent area.
Despite the felling of the oft-filmed and iconic tree, this spot remains one of the most atmospheric and beautiful spots in the north of England. Easily accessible from Brampton, either by road or along the Hadrian’s wall path, an excursion to this breathtaking spot is well worth the journey.
Wild & Untamed
Hadrian’s Wall once formed the border between England and Scotland, and is now a crucial part of the British Isles’ history and heritage. Sycamore map is perhaps the most famous spot on the whole wall, providing countless visitors with inspiration.
Owned and managed by the National Trust, the area sits inside the Northumberland National Park. Home to England’s cleanest air and cleanest rivers, the park is in a remote corner of northern England, making it perhaps the wildest place to explore south of the Scottish border.
